Melissa Kanenbley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families on their path to healing. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from Barry University in 2005 and has worked in various clinical settings, including inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, and private practice.
Melissa specializes in trauma recovery, women’s issues, and pregnancy/postpartum support. She also helps clients navigate depression, anxiety, mood disorders, stress, relationship issues, LGBTQ+ concerns, narcissistic trauma, and co-occurring disorders. Her goal is to guide clients in overcoming life stressors, emotional dysregulation, and mental health challenges to improve overall well-being and functioning.
Her therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Melissa is a mindful and compassionate listener who fosters self-awareness and insight. She helps clients understand their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to move toward growth, authenticity, and self-actualization.
